From what I know, my team loves me and respects me. I have my team barking with energy every call (we are the dawg pound). They bring the energy, but also respects me.
My respect is earned. They have saw me get in the trenches with them and sell so they know I got it. And they do know I will write them up. I just had an employee who had to be written up for being late to open a store. I don’t take pride and love in disciplining my team, but I will do it. One thing I’m heavy on is documentation and using the sandwich method. I will send a recap of each visit. And I will tell you what you’re doing well in, followed by what needs work and then end on words of encouragement. This is how I communicate with every member of the team. And I’m consistent with following up. I follow up via Zoom daily. And when I’m in the store, I’m making sure to give them the utmost attention. This is how I earned the respect of my employees.
