Parks doing something as simple as not giving up her seat, led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Before, e had to boycott and fight for some of the most basic human rights. Is it fair? Absolutely not. But we didn’t complain. We just did what was necessary for change. The Montgomery Bus Boycott took an entire year. Sometimes we set a goal and want it to be accomplished immediately. But this isn’t how it works at all. You must go through hardships. Parks went through so much scrutiny over the course of the year. She lost her job and was arrested for breaking the law. But she didn’t give in. In fact, most people believe Parks didn’t get up her seat from being physically tired from work. Which I completely understand. I will get home from work and not be able to do anything like a bear in hibernation. But Parks didn’t get up because mentally she was tired. She was tire of giving in to a failed system. And from one black leader becoming mentally tired, she was able to stop bus segregation.
