1/3 of black men report they experience suicidal ideas or thoughts. It is the second leading cause of death from ages 15-24 for black people. This is swept under the rug. There isn’t a lot of research invested into these statistics. Experiencing racism and having a lack of resources makes it difficult to build relationships. This isolates us from each other. The childhood adversity created distrust in relationships. Childhood trauma is directly connected to depression. And add that on top of being in poverty leads to suicidal thoughts. Take time to build healthy relationships to lower suicide rates.
