Take a guess at who you think it is. If you ever heard “I had a dream” speech, you know who I’m talking about. The man who walked so leaders like me can crawl.
The man with the name who was changed from Michael. And I’m not talking about myself. I’m talking about Martin Luther King Jr. He is known for his contributions to the American Civil Rights Movement. And we all know how important this movement was for us. It opened up opportunities for us that we didn’t have before. King participated in these protests in the south. The south was worst than the north because of how they weren’t free states during slavery. These protests were only 70-80 years ago. Through peaceful protests, King stopped racial segregation and discrimination. Before black peoples couldn’t even drink from the same water fountain as white people. Bu he was able to bring us all together. Now it’s your turn to leave a stamp in history.

I know all about this from my experience at an old employer. I had a leader who treated me like I was worthless. A leader who told me, “there’s no pride in being the tallest midget.” He told me this when I became the best leader in our area but it was my first month, but in the company I was still ranked in the 100’s.
You can’t lead with fear and power. It never works out. Leading like this isn’t sustainable. You may be able to make it work for a little bit until everyone rebels. And they’ll use their “leadership” skills when you already eel bad. They’ll kick you when you’re already down because their goal is to embarrass you. These bad leaders believe they are before the team. No one comes before the mission of the team. To compare, it’s a real narcissistic trait they be. So belittling you makes them validate their worth. This leader is the perfect example of what not to do. 4/28/2024 0 Comments 4 basic leadership stylesI had plenty of leaders in my sales career. And from each one, I witnessed different styles. One leader was cursing me out on a daily basis. Another one felt like a friend you didn’t want to let down. There was a leader sho gave you the freedom of leading and didn’t say much. And then there was a leader who let you walk all over them. Each one was different.
Just like the four basic leadership styles: 1. Autocratic 2. Democratic 3. Laissez-faire 4. Paternalistic Autocratic are leaders who make all the decisions and give orders. Makes me think of a military Sargent. They say and order and you obey. Democratic leadership considers the input of their subordinates. This makes me think of a big business and how they work with upper leadership. The CEO of a company isn’t going to be running or doing the job of a president. Paternalistic treats your team like a family. You are do or die for them. And you also treat them like a child. Reward good behavior and punish bad behavior. These are the four basic leadership styles that must be adjusted depending on situations and even employees. Every situation is different than the last. Which style do you enjoy the most? 4/25/2024 0 Comments Build a legacy with omnipotenceHow to give tools and support?
at my job, this is the point of the entire position. This is something I had to learn over the course of my district manager career. And these are some of the things I learned… You must be omnipotent. What does this mean? This is something I learned in Bible study. It means to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. This is a Godly trait. I am not telling you to be God. It’s just a trait you must have. It also means to always be available. There are times I have an “off” day, but I’m still on the phone helping representatives. This doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy my rest day. But I’m just available for my team to let them know I’m here for them. It only takes a couple of minutes. And this goes a long way. You are building a legacy. There is much more impact as a leader than as someone being led. You can be in multiple places at once. This is done through constant encouragement and brainstorming. Your job is to give your team other ways to look at problems. You are also holding them accountable. Build a legacy with your omnipotence… 4/23/2024 0 Comments What makes a good leader? This game we had this past Sunday at the HAC, reminded me of the importance of great leadership. My leadership kept us in the game the first half as best as possible. But it wasn’t enough to get us the W, but I learned a thing or two to teach you.
A great leader is one who constantly is coaching and inspiring others. They don’t stop at any time. And this means the good, the bad and the ugly. Don’t hesitate for a minute to let them know what they need to improve on. And you must use the sandwich method for this. The bread is the positive and what they are good at. And the insides are what they need to work on. And do it in this order. what is the importance of great leadership? The importance is to build legacies. subscribe to my YouTube Winnerz Win. More clarity equals more success
I know this is a topic I talk about quite a bit. And the reason I do is because of the importance of it. More clarity is the key to anything else and will help anyone on their self improvement journey. It’s so simple that it’s difficult. Isn’t that crazy? I’m looking at my social media yesterday on my rest day. And what I noticed was my profiles were starting to grow more than ever. And I’m researching what I started to do differently. A light bulb went off in my head. I’m receiving more clarity on who I am and what I do and this is why it’s growing. Before, I would almost try to hide what I did for work. But then I realized working is a part of my journey and there’s nothing wrong with providing for my family. So I started to post content that I do at work because it also goes hand and hand with what my business is. See at work, I coach people on sales all of the time. It only makes sense to continue to talk about it on my social media platforms. And going to work is a part of me and my daily routine. I was being truthful about my day. It’s so simple it’s insane. Behind the camera, I’m literally being myself and the more I am myself, the more engagement, money, and success I achieve. This is crazy how it works. My video getting the most buzz now is me at a networking event networking with other business owners. This is something I am attempting to go to so I can be known more in my area. The more known I am in my area, the greater chance I have at those big time magazines such as Forbes. You can gain the type of success I’m getting. You only have to be more of yourself and you’ll see so much growth. What do you like to do? Who are you? Show it all. The more you show, the better off you’ll be. How much clarity do you have in who you are? And if you want the formula I used to grow my social media page this month, subscribe to my newsletter. Selling is an important part of communication. And not to mention, it’s a high income skill which could make you tons of money! And money helps you do anything you want to do in life. But the greeting starts the sale! A big part of selling is attention to detail and this part is overlooked. Now yes, you can make some money without having a charismatic greeting, but a great greeting could mean a big difference from your client coming back to you or not. I say a large part of a greeting is name exchange. If I can know your name, I think of you as a friend. The only people who use my first name are my friends, family, and my wife when she’s not so happy. So when I use the client or the customer’s name, I am able to be more personable. Another part is making them feel welcomed fast. If someone comes into one of my locations, we call it three seconds, three feet. My sales representatives have three seconds to greet a customer or client when they come into a location. It’s important for them to lay out the red carpet. And the next part is three feet. My sales representatives have three feet to run up to the customers or clients coming into the door. And I know I keep going between customers and clients, but clients are much better. A customer may come once, but a client will come back. The last step with the greeting step is a mindset. Great customer service and sales go hand and hand. But you must have the mindset to make some money too. My representatives don’t ask for the sale, then having a strong greeting will have people come back to them, but it won’t have the business make any money. You can have the best customer service in the world, but if your business isn’t making any money, then you are gonna be outta business quickly. Remember to always follow these three steps when selling to any of your clientele. Because when you have a great greeting the customer will come back to you over and over again. And this is what we want. We want clients who will stay with us until the day they pass from this planet. For more tips on sales, subscribe to my newsletter. Networking events are a time to connect with other people. This networking event I went to in Kennett Square PA had some of the same people I ran into at other events before. When you start to get known in your area, people start to see you in the same places. Do you want to get on that Forbes Magazine? You have to get known locally. And what’s a better way to get known locally than to go to networking events near you? There isn’t a better way. I met some amazing people such as Susan here. Susan has her own online shop to sell all natural products. Which is a good thing. Do you know how many chemicals are being placed in the products you use? My wife and I try to go as close to nature as we can. She creates toothpaste made of coconut oil and baking soda. There are plenty of benefits of this, but I’m not going to go into the benefits of all natural goods to ones with chemicals in there. What I liked was meeting with good people. When you meet with good people, there are so many things that open up. When someone saw me recording this video with Susan, they offered to give me two ideas to speak at two events. They are going to reach out to me with two more gigs. Get known locally! I’m not going to keep saying it, but you see the benefits of it. And if you need help getting known locally or how to do it. You can learn in my monthly newsletter. Thanks, Carlos “Loso2.0” Henry 6/27/2023 0 Comments A Crooked Smile Is OkayLet me see your smile
It’s hard to be positive in a world of negativity. 95% of what comes into your mind throughout the day is negative. This can affect the way you may look at the world around you. Just smile. There are so many positive benefits of showing those pearly whites. I know it’s difficult to do in a world of negativity, but I promise it’s worth it. Whenever I smile, I immediately feel happy. And this really shows resilience in the face of adversity. Although I've been through what feels like 15 lives in the midst of one life as a kid, I still continue to show my pearly whites. Not to brag or anything, but I’ve only been to the dentist once! And the dentists were so happy to see I have beautiful teeth for someone who has only been there once. At work, someone tried to ask me to work for Colgate. But even if I had a crooked smile, I still would smile. This is the first thing people see when they look at me. And when my teeth are out and I’m smiling, it makes them feel warm about me and okay with approaching me. This is the most contagious sickness. It has more power than COVID. When one person smiles or laughs, everyone else does. Whenever I’m with my friends and we laugh and smile, everyone is laughing with us. I just want to spread this love and positivity throughout everyone. When I'm laughing, I’m not thinking about anything else, but trying to breathe because I’m dying of laughter. When you smile, there will be endorphins released promoting you to feel happy, relaxed and overall happy. Continue to manage your stress and enhance your mental clarity with your beautiful smile and positivity. Let me know how smiling makes you feel today? Thanks Carlos “Loso2.0” Henry |
